Day 20

Today's photo challenge was actually quite enjoyable for me. I volunteer at the Louisiana Children's Discovery Center (LCDC). I will admit that if it wasn't for my required hours at school I never would have thought to volunteer here. With that being said I really do enjoy going and volunteering. The kids are for the most part great and it's a lot of fun. Today I volunteered in the Creation Station and it was free paint Friday! I took this great opportunity to paint a beautiful flower for my photo challenge today!

This cute lil "orange" guy is brought to you by communications class for education majors. We had to do demonstration speeches this week and we were taught how to make this cute little guy. It's a great little activity for those of us who are teaching the younger kids!

Day 17 & 18

I am posting the last two days because last night I was just plum lazy and didn't want to update the blog. Heck I didn't even do any homework last night. Most of you may think that is normal for any college student however, for those who live near me and deal with me on a regular basis know what a nazi I am about doing my hw! I may or may not be a perfectionist when it comes to my school grades ;)

PHOTO CHALLENGE DAY 17: Something you DISLIKE

As you can see in the above picture I have featured two things; my math book and my feet. Now I don't dislike me feet, I dislike most people's feet. I just think they are gross. As far as the math book goes... The subject math and I have had a hate hate relationship as far back as I can remember which is a LOOONNNGGG time! I am glad to announce  that after the summer semester  I will have completed all my required math classes!! THANK GOODNESS!!

The reason you don't see my face is because I was attempting to capture just my hair and the way I wore it to school today. It is hard work trying to take a picture of just your hair in the mirror with a giant camera! Also I am soo glad my hair keeps getting longer! I am getting closer to my "mermaid" picture! Oh and P.S Tim sometimes it's ok to keep some info to ourselves ;) 

Day 16

Today's challenge was flowers! Luckily for me I have a nice 15 minute walk to class and there are some beautiful flowers to admire as I walk. These particular ones are found outside of the baseball field on campus. I clearly took some liberties when editing this photo. I really love being able to walk around campus and admire the beauty that is around me. I am truly thankful to my Father in Heaven for the beautiful earth I get to live 0n.

Today's photo challenge was sunset. I knew this "sunset" challenge was coming today and I meant to scope out a perfect spot to get a great picture of a sunset.. Do you think I actually did that? Nope I sure didn't. Instead I waited till it was almost too late to go and hunt for a spot to take a picture. Now where I live there are a ton of trees and it's hard to get a clear shot of the sun setting. I have included two shots from today and a shot from exactly a year ago. I am including the shot I took last year simply because I love it more and because I feel bad for the stinky photos I am posting for today's challenge.

A Photo Challenge Slacker's Excuses

I must confess I have fallen behind in uploading my photos for the photo challenge. However, I have good excuses. EXCUSE #1: You see I have been studying like crazy to pass my PRAXIS test so that eventually once I get done with school I can be a certified special education teacher! Well the test was on Friday and I PASSED!! Hooray!!!

Once my test was over I traveled to MS to see my family. EXCUSE#2: It was my little cousin's Jr. Prom! She asked me to come fix her hair and make-up as well as be her and her date's chauffeur for the evening. How could I  say no? After all I helped raise this little girl, I even potty trained her. (Luckily for me she doesn't read this blog) I had a blast helping her and she looked beautiful all dressed up. I must say I enjoyed dressing up as her chauffeur as well (see pic below). I would love to post a picture of my beautiful cousin all dolled up but my aunt has requested pictures of her kids not be posted on the internet so I must respect her wishes. Trust me though she looked GORGEOUS!

Excuse #3: After prom, that same night, my cousin, Aunt and I headed down to Relay For Life. My mom's company put together a team for Relay for Life. Which for those who don't know it's to help raise money and awareness of cancer as well as honor those who have lost their lives to or beaten cancer. My little cousins, little sister, aunt and momma together with my mom's fellow employees were at the event till about 2:30 am. It was a lot of fun!

I also got up this morning and took pics of my sister and her fiance.(see pic below) Which counts as my 4th and final excuse of why I have been slacking on my photo challenge updates.

This past weekend I visited the great city of New Orleans. Why you ask? Excellent question I went to New Orleans so that I could run the Crescent City Classic which is a 10K race. I had a blast doing it and if you would so desire to you may read all about my experience on my blog Sew Run Already.

My good friend Ms. Beth gave me this beautiful lady bug that is featured below!  We both have always wanted lady bug tats but we of course will never get one.  So in an effort to continue to resist the urge (to get a tat) we randomly find little lady bug things to share with one another.

Today's challenge literally made my heart happy and I smiled just looking through my pictures trying to pick one! I am fortunate enough to live very close to two of my fantastic "nieces"! One I literally see at least 5-6 sometimes 7 days a week!

I love these two little girls more than words can express! Whenever I am having a bad day I can go see one or both of them and instantly feel better.

So thanks to Tinny for having adorable Kaylor(left) and to Wendy and SD for having adorable Anna Claire(right)! I LOVE THEM!!
